Alejandro Zamora Barbero (born 22 April 1984 in Madrid) is a Spanish footballer who plays for Mérida AD as a central defender. == Club career == Born in Madrid, Zamora started his career with Real Madrid C and also enjoyed a loan spell with Real Oviedo, before signing for the B-team of Real Betis. Even though he spent two years in the B-team, his only match for Real Betis came in a La Liga encounter against Atletico Madrid, on 2nd December 2007, which was also the last match of Hector Cuper as Betis manager.〔 In June 2009, Zamora signed for UD Salamanca on a two year contract. This was followed by his stint with Castellón in 2013. In late October 2015, he signed a short contract with Cacereño for two months. But after a match against San Roque in January 2015, he hinted of leaving the club; with rumours circulating that Guadalajara interested in signing the player. Zamora finally signed for Guadalajara of the Segunda División B in 30 January 2015. His first involvement with his new club was being a unused substitute in a 2–1 defeat against Sestao Club in 8th February. His debut came exactly a week later in a 1–0 victory over Real Sociedad B where he was booked in the 87th minute. On 30 July 2015, Zamora was transferred to Mérida AD, becoming the sixth signing of the third tier club.〔 About this he said that he "had came to the club to bring it where it deserves".
